St. Barts
La Langouste 10/14/02

We fell upon La Langouste by chance. We were bare-boating in the French West Caribbean and had stopped in St. Barths for 3 days. We rented a moped and sought out a fairly close beach. After finding a beach that was close to Gustavia, we were hungry and ventured down the beach in search of something to eat (me in sarong, he in shorts). We came upon La Langouste by chance, and lucked out because every morsel of food was sublime. It was the best meal we had on our trip. Recently, my parents visited St. Barths for a week. Serious foodies (used to the likes of Jean Georges, Nobu, Daniel in NYC), they found La Langouste to be the best restaurant they went to on the island. And in fact they went there a total of three times (2 for lunch, 1 for dinner) in the week that they were there. The restaurant is not pricey, if you go by St Barths standards, and is a wonderful beach-side restaurent for lunch--casual atmostphere, excellent service, fabulous food.
