There is very little information we know of Punta Cana as well as the DR. Are there sites we can go to, do people speak english, or at least a little english? What types of foods do they serve at the all inclusives. And of course, Golf. I understand there is a mandatory caddy, does that include with each player and is there a cart you need to purchase? Please inform us what the highlights are. > >Thank you > > >Julie Dear Julie, I was in the Barceló Resort in Puntacana in 1998, and I find it very nice. You won't regret, I can sure you. There are in the resort 5 hotels: Bávaro Palace, Bávaro Beach, Bávaro Garden (These, are near the beach, you only have to walk 1 minute), bávaro golf and, at least, Bávaro Casino (these two are a bit inland). The first (Palace) is 5 stars, all the others are 4 stars. I was in the bávaro beach. I could eat or drink in all of them, except in Palace, but those people who are in Palace can go on the others. The food is excellent, so are the milkshakes and drinks. All inclusive means: you can eat as much as you want, there is a lot of variety, you can't try everything, is impossible; Be prepared to gain some weight. You can drink all of national drinks, alchoolic or not. Is also included non-motorized aquatic sports or snorkling, tennis and golf. the people is frindly, the gardens are luxuriant, and the beach is very safe. You don't need to carry your personnal beach towel, they have it there, every morning, hundreds of clean towels. Each hotel has its own swimming pool, and for the night there are variety shows (it's free too). The sea water is warm and its coulor is a mix of light green and blue. Is wonderful, believe me. If you choose any of the hotels which are far from the beach, don't worry, you don't have to walk to get a swim in the sea, There are a sort of trains (is not a real train, it has tyres and a diesel motor), passing each 10 minutes everywhere, and enjoy the ride. Don't choose "half-board" package because food and drinks are expensive if you have to pay; "All inclusive" is the best way and you relly don't need to exchange money. Major credits cards are accept. Outside of the hotel there are... more fine hotels, so there's no need to leave the hotel. It's a kind of a cruise ship. Go there, and enjoy it. Next may I'll go to mexico (for the second time), or Malaysia, or Philipines, I'm not sure yet. This year, I was in Thailand (Phe Phe Islands, Puket and Bangkok) and I found it amazing as well. Best luck for your marriage, and enjoy your holidays. Kind regards Rodrigo Valezim
