Sunshine Suites 09/11/02

My husband and I stayed at Sunshine Suites for our honeymoon in September 2002. The room was as pictured in the brochure. We had a studio suite with a queen sized bed. It was a little cramped, but we were looking for a value priced hotel. The hotel is in an awesome location right across from the Westin and 7MB. The hotel provides fresh towels and beach chairs. One area the Suites is lacking in is Service! The reception office has limited hours which makes it difficult to get problems resolved after hours. The staff in the reception office was unhelpful and downright rude on several occasions. Don't forget to bring your hotel confirmation because we were booked at the wrong room rate. When we brought this to their attention at check-in we were told we were wrong. I had my husband go out to the car to get our confirmation and the right paperwork with the lesser room rate mysteriously surfaced. Our deposit from an earlier reservation was not refunded, even though it had been cancelled three weeks prior to our stay. We also had to check back several times during the week to make sure that the deposit was applied to our bill. Again, it was a less than pleasant discussion with the reception staff to get the bill corrected. We utilized the conceriege at the Westin to help us with our questions and to give us recommendations. We would probably stay at the Suites again due to its convenient location and low price.
