I spent countless hours reviewing places to stay on Grand Cayman. This was my honeymoon, and I wanted it to be perfect, yet practical. After going to Cozumel in March 2002, I was set on the idea of an "all-inclusive", something which really doesn't exist in the Cayman's. We checked into Spanish Bay on monday, but transferred to the Hyatt on tuesday - it was not at all what we expected.
--------
GOOD
--------
1. All-inclusive did include meals, drinks, Jeeps (not Chrysler), bicycles, and for divers like us, all dive equipment.
2. Joy at the bar is a hoot!
3. The staff was VERY friendly and bent over backwards to make you comfortable.
4. The view from the pool was pretty awesome. The 1 day we spent there was pretty windy, and the ocean noise was very relaxing.
5. The hammocks were comfy.
6. It was very quiet - not a lot of people.
7. HBO!
8. Sister resort (Beach Club Colony) is on 7 mile beach next to the Hyatt (how ironic), and has a great location.
--------
BAD
--------
1. This place is on the far north end of the island - pretty much next to nothing (this may be a positive to some).
2. The "all-inclusive" meals were poor at best.
3. The jeep rentals (included) were only for 4 or 8 hour blocks, and had to be back by 4 (ie. we were pretty much stuck there for the night).
4. Getting a taxi to anywhere was a minimum $25 ONE WAY (hint: car rentals from Avis are cheaper).
5. The lock on the door to our room was broke.
6. A few to many bugs in the room.
7. SCUBA - VERY IMPORTANT FOR THOSE WHO GO TO DIVE! While Spanish Bay does include your equipment & unlimited shore diving, swiming to the dive point was virtually impossible due to the waves & current.

SUMMARY
--------
If this is your first trip to Grand Cayman, this is not the place to stay (especially if it is your honeymoon). It was to remote, and didn't get you close to the activity of the island. We didn't hate the place, just not for us. I would consider Spanish Bay if I was looking for a short, cheap, quiet vacation, or was traveling with a large group.
As a side note, we stayed at the Hyatt for not much more, and payed for the same things we would have paid for anyway. Only downer - drinks are expensive!
The diving in Cayman is AMAZING! Dive with Danny @ Off The Wall Divers - he takes good care of you.
Happy travels,
