The Cayman Islands Hotel, Resort & Villa Reviews
Nautilus Apartments 07/01/2003
Reviewers Rating: Excellent
My best friend and I just returned from Grand Cayman where we had a lovely vacation. We stayed at Nautilus Apartments in West Bay, which is actually North Seven Mile Beach. If you want to be away from all the commercial hotels and tourists that populate Seven Mile Beach, this is the perfect place to stay.

The "apartments" are actually 2 apartments, one cottage and one studio cottage. We stayed in the cottage, which for the price couldn't be beat, but was somewhat more rustic than the air-conditioned apartments (newly renovated). Both were directly on the ocean with a deck overlooking the crystal-blue water. There were great snorkeling sites right out in front of the property that are very popular and listed in the guidebooks as must-see for their beautiful coral reefs.

Our hosts, Frank and Beth Roulstone, could not have been more accomodating and gracious in helping us with everything from transportation to snorkeling to dining choices. Frank and Beth are natives of Grand Cayman and are a wealth of information about the island, including some fascinating history about the Caymans before tourism was in its heyday there.

If you want an experience that goes beyond the usual condo-crowd, then this is the best place to stay. We will definitely be returning to stay with Frank and Beth again.
