We were thrilled with the choice. The hotel is beautiful as well as the pool and hotel grounds. We were booked for an island view room (nice term for hotel parking lot) with a request for an upgrade. When we arrived they had already upgraded us to a partial ocean view on the first floor -room 188. Our room looked out directly at one of the two whirlpools. The ideal rooms are on upper floors with full ocean view but be prepared to pay for the view. You need your money for restaurants. You could not ask for a better beach or the water. The water was crystal clear and smooth as silk. We did look over the Hyatt and was not happy with the hotel being split between the beach and the main road. Their beach was very small in comparison to the Westin. The Westin does lack night life for the young, only a piano player is available. A wonderful 50's cafe is across the street, Eats Cafe - we had breakfast there every morning. Plenty of food for the money. Would be very happy to return.
