The wellness found in Dominica

Postby KarenS » Fri Feb 23, 2007 8:27 am

What you'll find in Dominica, pronounced Doe-min-eeka and situated between Martinique and Guadeloupe, is verdant, undulating landscape and roaring waterfalls.

Beaches ebb, flow and disappear with the whim of the sea. Roads do the same in the wilderness. The island has an unpolluted river for each day of the year. Rainbows are common, but disappear as quickly as Dominica's green flash: the blazing, bright green phenomenon that occurs just as the sun sets below the ocean's horizon.

"Sounds corny, but if you stay a few days, the wellness factor comes in and it just changes you. All you really need to do to 'fit in' in Dominica is just chill out, look around and let it happen," says New Yorker Marie Rosa.
