Family Friendly Jamaica

Postby KarenS » Thu Jun 15, 2006 7:13 am

Parents and children alike relish the distinctive "Club Mongoose" children's program at the Sunset Jamaica Grande Resort. "Club Mongoose" has its own well supervised playground complete with pool, allowing parents some much needed free time while their children (ages two to twelve) make new friends and explore a different culture. Puppet making, hermit crab hunts, computer stations, Reggae dance classes and interpretive adventures through Jamaican history are sure to please. Also, tweens and teens, ages 10 and up, have their own clubs too Jamrock and Jamstone which are home to day and night fun.

Pirate's Paradise Water Park at Sunset Beach Resort & Spa:

Sunset Beach Resort & Spa in Montego Bay welcomes families to the Pirate's Paradise Water Park, which has twists, turns, rides and slides for all ages. Blackbeard's Lazy River takes guests on a slow trip around the park. The Caribbean Pirate's Paradise Fort features an exciting 40-foot high Pirate's Plank Bridge and two rooftop Jacuzzis. Two shooting waterslides send guests on a zooming good time. Children age 2-12 flock to the Pirate Ship, which boasts a kid's section with their very own swimming pool and slide. A large Jacuzzi offers respite for the older set. The Pirate's Cove Teen Center situated offers arcade games and pool tables. With over an acre of swerves, curves, waves and chutes, Sunset Beach Resort & Spa offers fun for the whole family.

Big Fish, Little Fish Delights at Goldeneye:

The birthplace of James Bond, Goldeneye is a 15-acre seaside hideaway in Oracabessa, Jamaica, home to author Ian Fleming as he wrote his 13 most famous spy novels. While parents enjoy Jet Ski safaris, deep sea fishing, relaxing massages and fitness programs, children can explore a custom itinerary of activities. The Goldeneye Glass Bottom Boat excursion is an ideal way to warm up to underwater adventure. Snorkeling, kayaking, sailing and windsurfing lessons are available daily. Kids ages six and over can accompany qualified experts on a thrilling Jet Ski ride. Capture bait, then catch, cook and eat fish and crab on a kids' fishing adventure. Nature walks, star gazing, bonfire building, local arts & crafts and yoga/meditation round out the fun. Nearby Stingray City offers a close-up encounter with 27 majestic stingrays for the whole family!
