Travel & news discussion about St. Lucia

mosquitoes in late November?

Postby stompypuppy » Wed May 17, 2006 12:17 am

We're planning a trip to Ti Kaye near Anse Cochon late this year...were wondering when peak mosquito season was so we could avoid it. Any ideas?

Thanks!

I did a search and found this:
Are there mosquitoes on the island (of St. Lucia)?

Please remember you are in the tropics. There are mosquitoes in the bushes. During high season between January and April, there is less rain so mosquitoes are few unless you are playing in the bushes. During the rainy season, the little pests are more plentiful. At night it is good to wear long pants and use the bug repellent on your ankles. If they are bad, use more.

...therefore, I would suggest bringing a good repellent. My experience throughout the Caribbean is that it helps although the little pests can't be avoided entirely (they LOVE my daughter!!)
