St Lucia Jazz Festival
St Lucia - 4 May 2007 to 13 May 2007
St Lucia's jazz festival visits a number of locations in St Lucia and involves well-known jazz artists performing in picturesque locations.
The main stage is located on Pigeon Island and will involve John Legend, Blue Mango, Tania Maria and David Murray.
Jazz in the south is another part of the festival and will take place in Laborie and Vieux Fort. Artists include Kali, Nicole David, Prolifik and Ma Mi La Kay.
Tea time jazz will involve a host of free events taking place at La Place Carenage. Performers include Phase 5 and Tabernacle Gospel Jazz band.
In 2001, St Lucia Jazz Festival celebrated its tenth anniversary and has now become and internationally acclaimed event on a tiny island.
The festival started originally with the aim of getting more tourist arrivals in what is traditionally a low period in May.
Now the festival is ranked highly in the list of Caribbean festivals and has come a long way from its origins in 1991.
