Travel & news discussion about St. Lucia

September weather?

Postby Poppit01 » Sun Jan 22, 2006 11:15 am

I'm considering booking a honeymoon in St. Lucia from Sept. 17 though Oct. 1. I know September is rainy season, but I'm wondering if I should be concerned about constant rain and thunderstorms or just brief, sporadic tropical showers.
Any help would be much appreciated!

It isn't just rainy season - it is Hurricane season. September is usually also the hottest month in the Caribbean and has the most restaurant closings, etc. Still - none of that would put me off if that was the time I had available to go - I have spent several Septembers in the Caribbean without incident. I don't think you can ever plan on constant, long downpours but it could happen - however it is probably more unlikely than likely to happen.

Hope my answer wasn't too confusing!
