Beach Etiquette in Antigua

Postby jmy129 » Mon Sep 10, 2007 9:32 am

Is topless or nude sunbathing frowned upon on the island? I'm headed there in November on my honeymoon.

Strictly speaking topless sunbathing is against local regulations (nude bathing is actually illegal except on Eden Beach in the Hawksbill resort). I suppose it depends on how busy the beach is or which beach you are on (beach next to a resort/hotel or one of the many other public beaches).

This is an useful piece of information. Else there would have been chances my family and me getting into unsolicited trouble. It was the Cricket World Cup that made me view some of the spectacular beaches of the Carribean and since then I was planning for a holiday trip there, finally the time has come but then I need to abide the rules too.
