For a look at the venues being offered for the 2007 World Cricket Cup go to: http://www.cricketworldcup.com/Venues5.html and at http://www.cricketworldcup.com/Venues6.html

Anyone planning on attending?

Hi Karen,

Do you have any info as far as obtaining tickets for the ODI matches that are taking place in Trinidad (May 26 & 28). I am also looking for information on hotels near stadium. Thanks.

From an article in Trinidad & Tobago Express: "Good response to CWC tickets
Wednesday, May 3rd 2006

The second day of ticket sales for next year's ICC Cricket World Cup in the Caribbean saw brisk business being conducted once more, including here in Trinidad and Tobago.

While on-line ticketing began across the region Monday, regional fans got the opportunity to make ticket applications at various venues yesterday.

In T&T, the public had the opportunity to apply for tickets at the Hasely Crawford Stadium, Mucurapo, the Ato Boldon Stadium, Couva and TSTT building in Scarborough, Tobago.

And while specific numbers for all the islands were not available yesterday, as much as US$3.2m in sales had already been recorded by ICC World Cup West Indies by 1 p.m.

Commenting on the early response in Trinidad, however, Marketing and Communications manager of the Local Organising Committee, Penny Commissiong Chow, said things had gone well.

"I was quite surprised. There were people there from 8.30 at Hasely Crawford Stadium (when business began). There were people coming in constantly," she said".

At the ICC Cricket World Cup Site there's a section on frequently asked questions that may be helpful to you. Go to:
http://www.cricketworldcup.com/tickets-faq.html

One question is:
Q. How can I apply for Tickets?

Persons will be able to apply for tickets either online, via the ICC CWC WI 2007 Inc. website
www.cricketworldcup.com; or apply in person at the Official ICC CWC WI 2007 Inc. Ticket Centres, which will be located in each Host Venue country. Applications will be accepted starting May 1, 2006.

And/or e-mail your question to the Trinidad & Tobago organizing committee person (Anand Daniel) at: anandd@tstt.net.tt as it looks as if there are 2 stadiums: Queen’s Park Oval and Brian Lara stadium so I'm not sure where the event you want to see will be played. Anand will probably be able to give you info on hotels close by. We also have a hotel list on our site at http://www.caribbean-on-line.com/islands/tt/tth.shtml and maps to show you where the hotels are located at http://www.caribbean-on-line.com/islands/tt/tdmap.shtml (the numbered hotel icons look like little green houses)

I hope this is some help!

Karen,

Sorry, I wasn't specific. I was looking for information on the matches that are taking place this month - India vs. W.Indies - 2006, not the world cup. Again, thanks for your prompt response.

So sorry! I looked at the events calendar on the department of tourism's site and they only had this listed: "20th & 21st- Hampton International Games - Hasely Crawford Stadium
Trinidad
Tel: (868) 628 4776"

Try e-mailing the dept of tourism at: info@tdc.co.tt. They should have information on who to contact. Besides that, the Web wasn't very helpful where I looked!
