Provo cooking/eating costs

Postby islandjim » Fri Mar 17, 2006 12:45 pm

I am a regular visitor of Provo and usually take the all inclusive packages. Going again in June for another week of sun and fun. For our fall trip we have been thinking about renting one of the condos and cooking most of our meals. Is it cost effective to do this? Will it still cost a lot to buy food at the IGA and cook it in the condo? Eating out gets very expensive. If anyone can give me some feedback on the good and bad with buying and cooking your own food, it would be appreciated.

We cooked quite a few of our dinners last time we stayed in a villa. We thought it was more cost-effective than eating out all the time. We didn't think the prices were that high. Yes, higher than at home, but not waaaay higher. We did a lot of grilling of steak and veggies. It worked out well and we plan to do so next time we go back.
