Anyone Going for New Year's?

Postby DiviAruba » Tue Dec 20, 2005 6:22 am

Just wondering is anyone is heading down to ring in 2006. Leaving Christmas Day for two weeks. Love those fireworks.

Sorry, I meant ringing in 2006. I'll be there to ring in 2007 too. We love it and go every year.

Hi DiviAruba, I knew what you meant! I figured you were getting so excited about going you forgot what year it is so I was just teasing you! We don't arrive till the 31st, New Year's Eve Day. Here's to a smooth flight and a wonderful vacation.

Enjoying New Year's Eve

My wife and I greeted two New Years sitting on the north end of the beach at the Phoenix. Looking over Palm Beach we could see the jewels of fireworks lighting up the night sky from the communities that are nestled along the sweep of the bay that forms Palm Beach and curves around to the point where the California lighthouse is located. Quiet, intimate and memorable.

Sooooooo, now we're back home. We went up to the 5th floor of our resort about 20 minutes before midnight.........it was spectacular! Fireworks all over the island as far left and right and near and far as the eye could see!

Ahhh yes, it was a beautiful sight! Hoping to be lucky enough to go down early again next year and see it all over again! DiviAruba, have you ever been there to see Ling & Son's fireworks display? We missed that this time because they do it a couple of nights before NYEve but saw it the year before. That's quite the show too!

Yes, we were able to see the fireworks from Ling's. Divi has their own show at midnight on New Year's also. I have just booked the airfare for New Year's. Not sure what the issue is, but airfare is out of this world this year! We're going on 12/28-1/11/07.

And we own weeks 1 thru 4, which begins Jan 6th in 2007 but have a possible rental on a week 52, which would get us there on Dec 30th in time for NYEve, but won't know for sure till next week so I haven't looked at the fares yet. I'm kind of afraid to look!

How did you find the airfare? From Boston, it was the highest I've seen when booking early.

According to the airline website, our dates are still too far out to give me any info, have to wait a couple more weeks then check again. It's our return date that's too far out for a round trip fare to be posted. I did however put in dates for some relatives who come back earlier than we do and OMG...like you I've never seen them so high! $933.00 That's Hartford via San Juan.

I paid under $600. each for 12/28-1/11, Thursdays. Now it's over $900. p.p. (non-stop from Boston) Have no clue what the thing is with the airfares.

Just got back last night. Weather was great!
