Atlantic Standard Time, which means they are an hour ahead of Eastern Standard Time. The Virgin Islands do not participate in Daylight Savings Time (when most of us in the states "Spring Forward" an hour), so during this time they are 2 hours ahead of Eastern Standard Time.

I think I need to clarify this answer - the Virgin Islands are on AST - but that means they are on the same time as EST during the winter. When the clocks "Spring ahead", then EST is an hour ahead. The difference is never 2 hours - just one.
