40th Northern Caribbean Squash Championships

Postby KarenS » Fri Apr 21, 2006 7:28 am

From Cayman Net News: "The top squash players from the Northern Caribbean have converged on Grand Cayman for the 40th Northern Caribbean Squash Championships, also known as the Rose Bowl. The event kicks off on Thursday 20 April, with teams from Bahamas, Bermuda, Cayman, and Jamaica competing for the title.

Jamaica are the reigning Rose Bowl champions, and will do everything in their power to defend their title when play opens at the South Sound Squash Club. Cayman’s ladies are holders of the ladies’ division, which they won in Jamaica in 2004.

On Friday 21 April, tournament play will begin at 6:00 pm, with Cayman taking on Bermuda, and Jamaica facing off against Bahamas. From 7:00 pm it will be happy hour at the club, with music and a barbeque, and also a pasta night.

The final matches of the championship will take place on Saturday from 10:00 am, as Cayman faces Jamaica, and Bermuda take on Bahamas. There will be a lunchtime barbeque at the club, with the awards ceremony and dinner taking place from 7:30 pm at Castaway’s Grill in Grand Harbour."
