From Travel Weekly in a report from the recent 5th annual Cayman Islands Tourism Exchange: "Properties to remain closed on Grand Cayman include the Indies Suites, the Seaview Hotel, the North Point Condos, the Tarquynn Manor, the Treasure Island Resort, the Victoria House, the Beachcomber Condos, the Cayman Club, the Turtle Beach Villas and approximately 35 guesthouses.

The former Hyatt Regency Grand Cayman remains closed due to questions over ownership and insurance matters. However, the property’s 53 Beach Suites currently are open as the Hyatt Regency Grand Cayman Beach Suites."

If any of this changes please report!

I can happily report that the North Pointe condos are nearing completion! It has been a very long 20 months for the 10 owners, but we will have a totally new building soon. My husband has been on the island for the last 3 weeks trying to coordinate details. CO is scheduled for May 29. YEAH!

Indies Suites was sold to the St. Matthew's University School of Medicine last year, to be used as dormitory accommodation for students (June 2005).

Seaview Hotel site has been purchased by an investment company and will be developed as a three–story, 23–unit luxury condominium complex to be called The Seaview Residences (March 2006)

Treasure Island Resort has been bought by investors and is being turned into long term rental units (June 2005).
