Here’s a yuletide cheer for Mr. Willie and Mrs. Zelmalee Ebanks of Whistling Duck Farms in North Side! They’ve given us an early taste of the holidays and proof that Christmas is coming. At Willie’s Fresh Fruits, the family’s farm stand in Red Bay, they have one of the first harvests of fresh crisp, crimson sorrel and next to it, mounds of smooth ginger. There is nothing like a pot of Christmas sorrel brewing in the kitchen to put you in the holiday spirit, infusing the air with hints of cinnamon, cloves and ginger.
