Smoke Free Cayman Campaign

Postby KarenS » Tue Feb 27, 2007 8:30 am

In anticipation of the introduction of legislation governing tobacco use in the country, the Cayman Islands Cancer Society has announced the launch of its Smoke Free Cayman Campaign.

The first phase of the campaign will involve contacting all hotels and restaurants in the Cayman Islands.

Those establishments, which have banned the use of tobacco in all enclosed areas, will be presented with a window decal. The Society also plans to post a list of these establishments on its website

The decal has a blue background and features a white flower in the foreground. It also features the name of the campaign, a universal no smoking sign and the society’s logo.

The second phase of the programme, which the society hopes to introduce by May of this year, is the re-launch of its smoking cessation programme.
