The Cayman Islands National Gallery is once again ready to open its doors and invite guests to enjoy their latest exhibition. Entitled ‚ÄėCayman: An Ever-changing Landscape‚Äô the new show features some of the highlights of Caymanian art from the last four decades, never before displayed collectively.
All the items on display are taken from the National Collection, the combined works of the three locations in which they are housed; the National Gallery, the National Museum and the Cayman National Cultural Foundation. The 32 pieces in the current display were carefully selected from over 500 works of art that make up the National Collection. Picking out such a small selection from among the Cayman‚Äôs finest art from the last forty years was a challenge for Curator Natalie Coleman but one that she relished. ‚ÄúIt has been really exciting for me to come back and work with the National Collection and delve into this treasure trove of works,‚ÄĚ she says.
