The Jaycees Caribbean Queen Show committee is now moving in full gear with its preparations for the competition slated for 4 Aug. at Carnival City.
Thirteen countries, including Antigua & Barbuda have confirmed their participation in the competition. They are: Barbados, Dominica, Guyana, Jamaica, Trinidad & Tobago, St. Vincent, St. Maarten, Montserrat, Dominican Republic, Tortola, Curacao, St. Croix and host Antigua.
The theme for this year’s show is “Sparkling Splendour –The Gems of the Caribbean”.
A release from the committee said the theme coincides with “the display of Caribbean beauties at its best. “A show which has surpassed any other show being hosted in the region, and has been in existence now for 45 unbroken years, is indeed a milestone for the organisation.
A packed itinerary is being put together to include lunches, dinners and island tours for the contestants and their chaperones during their five-day stay on the island. The delegates will also be given the opportunity to interact with the major sponsors during their stay here.
