Curacao Trip Report

Postby kskis2 » Wed Nov 01, 2006 10:47 am

It was wonderful! Only had one day that rained and it only lasted 45 min. The diving was incredible. We dove the Superior Producer on Nitrox and loved it. The only downside is we swam 150 yds to the buoy from our resort and we were swimming on top in choppy seas and against current. But once there, it was fantastic. We also did the Double Reef, The Valley and Alice and Wonderland. Second fav was The Valley at Porto Marie. Loved the beach too. I didn't realize that the beaches and water would be so quaint and pretty. Playa Kalki (where we dove Alice in Wonderland) was beautiful too as was Grute Knip. Mambo Beach was nice with everything at your fingertips but a little crowded in the afternoon. We liked the Dowtown area. Everywhere seemed very clean and we always felt safe. The food was phenomenal too. Tops was The Wine Cellar(Venison, Ostrich and Escargot and Tiramisu to die for), 2nd was Landhuis Daniel (great basil mustard Panga, locally grown veggies and the Grande dessert), then Indonesian Rystaffel and La Bahia( for krioyo). Even the foor at the Holiday Beach Resort Beach bar was good (excellent Paella and bkfst buffet). We will be back. In fact, we may do it again next fall for our 5th anniversary.
Thanks for everyone's input!
